MEGAPAN ROOF

The MEGAPAN ROOF is a watertight, anti-rot, vapour permeable and fully environmentally friendly roof board. It is pigmented green.

Composition:

A close, homogenous mixture of magnesium and selected mineral deposits strengthened with alkali resistant glass fibre. This specially developed, environmentally friendly roof board scores on all technical demands: bend resistance, resistance to rupture, water absorption, density, hygroscopic expansion etc……exceedingly well.

Installation:

Megapan roof boards are always nailed onto a timber structure with the smooth side upwards. The boards are placed diagonally onto the joists or rafters (along the horizontal side). The distance between supports, measured from centre to centre, mounts up to maximum 600mm. Positioning starts from the top or the bottom of the roof.

In case of not sideways overlapping, the sideways joints must fall just above a beam or a rafter. The height of the batten amounts to a minimum of 15mm and a maximum of 26mm. If the boards do need to overlap along the sideways joint (in case of too small joists or rafters), a thinner batten needs to be fixed on that joint.  In the direction of the slope, the boards overlap each other with a minimum of 30mm (vertical wall of 90º) to maximum 115mm (in case of a 15º roof slope).

To overcome the difference in thickness at the height of the horizontal overlap, the batten are either locally interrupted or thinned. Another option is to let the batten run through provided that the megapan boards are worked into the rafter by means of an indentation.

The Megapan roof board has not been designed to be an exterior board; therefore it is advised to fit the roof covering as soon as possible after installing the megapan roof boards.
